A Biological Machine

If Your Body Was like a Car....

……then your heart is your engine and your lungs are the air intake and exhaust. And when you move faster or work harder, your ‘engine’ ‘revs up’ and when you relax or sleep it ‘ticks over’. And your lungs (air intake and exhaust) also speed up or slow down in proportion to your Heart/Engine speed. BPM (beats per minute) = RPM (revs per minute).

When a car is tuned the timing is optimised. IE. the revolutions per minute (RPM) are Synchronised with valve opening and closing for the air intake and exhaust gasses. If this timing is not set correctly, the engine will not perform optimally.

But, is it REALLY now possible to ‘tune’ and optimise the human body in the same way as a mechanical engine? Is there a correct ratio of heartbeats to breaths that creates the perfect ‘sweet spot’ for a human body’s biological functioning?
